Judge Heather Domme is a graduate of West Texas A&M University, with a degree in Ag Business and an emphasis in Equine studies. While at West Texas A&M, Heather was a member of the horse judging team. She was on the World Champion Team at the AQHA World, the Champion team at the NRHA futurity, 4th place team at Congress. Her individual accomplishments include a 4th place performance, 5th place in halter and 6th place individual reasons, all at the World Show. She was a member of the champion team at Congress and 4th place team at World during her Junior College career at North West College in Powell, Wyoming. She currently spends time in her equine massage therapy business, giving riding lessons and judging.

Rules

Entries are due August 3, 2010. Any horse entered after 8/3/10 will have a $2 per class post entry fee. Horses entered on or before or postmarked 8/3/2010 will pay no post entry fees for classes entered at the show. Post entry fees for the horse will be strictly determined by the postmark. Correct payment must accompany the entry form before the entry is considered pre-entered. Any class fees paid for a horse that is not pre-entered will have a post entry fee, even if your own horse was pre-entered. Show tabs are available if a signed open check is left at the office. There will be a $25 charge for a check returned for any reason. If the check is not made good within seven days after the show, it will be turned over to the county attorney for prosecution.

No refunds will be made on withdrawals from classes unless a veterinary certificate is submitted for horse or a doctor's certificate for the exhibitor to the show office within 4 days after the show. There is no switching of classes for horses or riders. No substitution of horses or riders in a class. Any switching or substitution is considered a scratch and re-entry.

Only one horse may be listed per entry form. The show charge applies to each horse. Two riders may be listed on the form. Please pay fees before the last class. A parent or guardian must sign the entry form for any rider under 18. All entry forms must be signed.

Stalls may be reserved by contacting Hester Rea, 227-5404. Cars and trailers must park in the area designated. All dogs must be confined or on a leash. Smoking is permitted only in the designated smoking area or your own vehicle. DO NOT throw any cigarette butts on the ground. There are some bleachers above the arena. Areas not open to the public are marked with an X on the grounds map. Please respect these boundaries.

There will be no concessions. Please bring your own lunch and drinks.

Any unruly or uncontrollable horse may be excused by the judge, if the exhibitor does not ask to be excused. A junior horse is 5 years and under. A senior horse is 6 years and older. Any horse is considered one year old on 1/1 following the actual date of foaling. An exhibitor's age for the competition year is the age as of 12/1/07. An individual born on 12/1 shall assume the greater age on 12/1.

A junior or green horse may be ridden two handed in a snaffle bit. A senior horse that is not green, must be ridden one handed in a shank bit. Dress may be casual but appropriate tack for the discipline ridden is required.

Please do not give a lesson or shout instructions to your child/student/friend etc while they are riding in a class. This is disruptive to others in the class. Wait until the class is over and do the lesson in the warm-up area.

Governors’ Cup Youth Scholarship

A $150.00 Scholarship will be awarded by the Western Heritage Horse Club to a youth under 23 years of age and attending school. He/she must register for the scholarship at the show office.
